The Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Madrid organized a press conference on Thursday focusing on providing details of the scale and severity of the crimes and violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia in the cities of El Fasher and Bara against unarmed civilians.

These crimes include systematic killing, starvation, looting, and the perpetration of horrific massacres that amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The Chargé d’Affaires, Minister Plenipotentiary, Shaza Abdel Aziz Kamel called on the international community to take all necessary and urgent measures to deter the militia, designate it as a terrorist organization, and hold accountable the countries that support and cooperate with it, particularly the United Arab Emirates.

The diplomat has pointed out that the international community’s silence regarding the militia’s disregard for UN Security Council Resolution 2736 (2024), which calls for lifting the siege on El Fasher, has encouraged it to continue committing further acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing in El Fasher and Bara.

Shaza renewed the commitment of the Sudanese government to achieving a just and equitable peace, based on national principles, throughout the country.

She welcomed all efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving peace through the surrender of the militia and the laying down of arms, thereby preserving the country’s unity and territorial integrity and fulfilling the aspirations of its people.

During the conference, a short documentary was screened, revealing some of the horrific crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia.
