The Governor of South Kordofan State, Lieutenant General Police Legal Specialist Mohammed Abdel Rahim Kafi Mohammed, participated on Saturday morning in an initiative to clean Kaduqli Stadium organized by local sports figures.
The event was attended by Musa Abu Zeid, Secretary of the Local Football Association, a representative of the Department of Youth and Sports, and a large gathering of representatives from sports teams across various divisions, as well as women’s sports groups.
The Governor of South Kordofan said sports were important because they played a significant role in promoting peaceful coexistence, mending the social fabric, and strengthening communication and integration within society. “It is through this spirit that society can live in stability and peace,” he said, affirming his support for sports in all their disciplines.
Kafi announced that support for athletes was on its way through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, which had pledged to send youth and sports convoys, along with sporting equipment, to the state. He also promised to separate the state’s Department of Youth and Sports from the Ministry of Education and Guidance.
He directed the registration and rehabilitation of sports grounds and fields, praising initiatives that contribute to development and stability. He noted that the state needed more such community-led efforts.
The governor urged people to uphold good morals and sportsmanship in all fields. He also pledged to organize the “Governor’s Cup for Peace and Stability” and support Al-Hilal Kaduqli, Al-Hilal Dilling, Al-Nasr Al-Rashad, and the Marta women’s team, which represent the state in national competitions.
The governor also donated SDG 30,000 to the campaign to rehabilitate Abu Jubeiha Stadium, marking the launch of the initiative.
