Sudanese Attorney General Demands the Interpol to Hand Over 12 Suspects

The Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan, Al-Fateh Muhammad Issa Tayfour, said that investigations into many criminal cases are proceeding well, and that they will request a red notice from Interpol for 12 accused of crimes and violations of national law and international humanitarian law, and that this list will be followed by other lists and communications to the International Police (Interpol) to arrest the accused in order to try them inside Sudan, adding that there will be trials in absentia for persons of interest who have not been arrested.

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received the Attorney General in his office in Port Sudan today, on Tuesday, according to a statement published by the Transitional Sovereignty Council Media.

The Attorney General said in a press statement following the meeting that he informed the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council about the progress of work in the Public Prosecution and the ongoing preparations for the 57th Human Rights Session, and the overall criminal work in the country, which is proceeding well, especially the work of the National Committee for the Investigation of Crimes, Violations and Violations of the Law. He added that the Public Prosecution is taking strong steps to preserve the rule of law, prosecute violators of the law and restore rights to their owners.
