Sudanhorizon Discloses Gold Production for the 1st Half of 2025

The General Manager of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Tahir Omar, revealed gold production for the first half of the current year.
Omar said in a statement to Sudanhorizon that gold production during the first six months of the current year amounted to 37,235 tons, representing a performance rate of 127%. He noted that first-half gold revenues amounted to approximately 400 million Sudanese pounds.
Omar explained that the three most productive states are River Nile, Northern, and Red Sea. He noted that the company recently opened offices in South Kordofan, bringing the number of producing states to seven.
In a related context, the Fourth International Mining Forum kicked off today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. Omar noted the desire of many private institutions and companies in the mining sector to share Sudan’s experience in the field of minerals.
During the forum sessions, he reviewed the reality of the mining sector in Sudan and the challenges and opportunities available.
The Director of Mineral Resources emphasized the role of regional and international partnerships in developing the sector and enhancing the utilization of mineral resources. He stated, in limited statements, that the company presented two working papers on the mining sector, in addition to organizing an exhibition to showcase the company’s experience in regulating the mining sector and its efforts in the areas of environmental monitoring, governance, and social responsibility.
He also highlighted promising investment opportunities in Sudan and projects aimed at developing the mining sector and enhancing its role in supporting the national economy.
It is worth noting that the forum witnessed widespread participation by more than 5,000 participants, including more than 300 senior officials and decision-makers, and more than 70 speakers from local and international experts.
