Sovereign Council Advisor to German Ambassador: All Border Crossings and Airports Open to Deliver Humanitarian Aid

Lieutenant General Al-Sadig Ismail Mahmoud, Advisor to the Sovereign Council for Organizations and Humanitarian Action, discussed with the German Ambassador to Sudan ways to enhance humanitarian operations in light of the significant challenges facing the region in his office in Port Sudan on Wednesday.

Ambassador Jamal Malik, Director of the European and American Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the official spokesperson for the Ministry, was also present.

During the meeting, the Advisor expressed the gratitude and appreciation of the Sudanese government and people for the assistance provided by Germany, both through UN agencies and bilaterally.

Going on to call on the German Ambassador to support voluntary return efforts taking place in many areas of Sudan, in addition to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to El Fasher.

He affirmed the opening of all border crossings, airports, and ports and the provision of all possible facilities to support humanitarian operations in Sudan.

The German Ambassador affirmed his country’s readiness to continue providing humanitarian aid to those in need in Sudan within the agreed frameworks.
