Al-Burhan Debriefed on Turkish Participation in London Conference

The Ambassador of Turkey to Sudan Fatih Yildiz, called on the President of the Sovereign Council, Lit. Gen. Abdul Fatah Al Burhan on Monday where he expressed his deep appreciation for the level of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The ambassador affirmed his country’s firm, unwavering, and supportive stance toward Sudan in regional and international forums, and its commitment to the stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Sudan.
The Turkish diplomat has indicated that he debriefed the Chairman of the Sovereign Council on his country’s participation in the London Ministerial Conference. He further added that the meeting with Al Burhan also addressed the outcome of the visit by Al Burhan to Turkey and the discussions he held with President Tayyeb Erdogan, as well as ways to strengthen the partnership between the two countries and advance areas of joint cooperation.
He said, “The recent talks held between Al-Burhan and Erdogan in Turkey are likely to advance bilateral relations between the two countries to a new level.”
The Turkish ambassador indicated that Turkish Airlines will resume direct flights to Sudan and announced the reopening of a branch of the Turkish Agriculture Bank in Port Sudan, noting that these steps will advance Sudanese-Turkish relations to broader horizons.
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, said in a press statement that the meeting addressed the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance, develop, and strengthen them in various fields, as well as the development projects that Turkey intends to implement in Sudan in the coming period, including the return of Turkish Airlines to operations from Port Sudan in early June.
The Undersecretary added that the meeting addressed the humanitarian aid projects that Turkey has continued to provide to the Sudanese people during their ordeal, in addition to discussing arrangements for delivering humanitarian aid through other routes in central and western Sudan.
The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs stated that the Chairman of the Sovereign Council praised Turkey’s supportive positions towards Sudan in international and regional forums and thanked the Turkish ambassador for the briefing he provided on his country’s participation in global forums and the London Ministerial Conference on Sudan.
