Tijani Sisi Explains Why Addis Ababa Consultations Failed
Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Moussa
Dr. Tijani Sisi, head of the National Movement Forces, stated that the meetings held recently by the five-member mechanism with Sudanese political forces in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, were a continuation of the meeting held last June.
That meeting aimed to reach a consensus on forming the preparatory committee for the Sudanese dialogue and resulted in a partial agreement between some parties within the Democratic Bloc and the “Sumud” alliance.
Sisi explained, in an exclusive statement to the Sudanhorizon ” news website, that the political forces involved have not yet been able to agree on the formation of the preparatory committee.
He pointed out that the boycott of the recent meetings by the “Sumud” alliance had a direct impact on the five-party mechanism plan, which is based on forming a preparatory committee with the participation of national political forces alongside the “Sumud” alliance. This affected the chances of reaching an agreement on the formation of the committee during the Addis Ababa meetings.
