A Pro-UAE Sudanese Group Fails to Organize a Token Support March

London- Sudanhorizon
A group of Sudanese supporters of the Rapid Support Forces militia has failed to organize a demonstration in the British capital, London, to express sympathy with the UAE, despite an intensive media campaign launched to lure participants.
The failed demonstration was to express support for the UAE and to condemn the government for accusing the latter of fueling the war in Sudan.
Reliable sources told Sudanhorizon that the Sudanese diplomatic mission in London has already received official notification from the London police that a group of Sudanese residents in London would demonstrate in front of the embassy.
The sources added that the demonstration, organized by a group under the banner of the Sudan Platform and the Emirati Friendship Association, has intensified its advertising campaign, in which it said the event would be an “earthquake.” They announced that the rally and its starting point would be in front of the UAE embassy in London, and that its purpose was to express the Sudanese people’s gratitude to the UAE!
However, the sources added, that despite prior knowledge that these were paid gatherings and the British authorities had approved the demonstration, the Sudanese embassy did not witness any demonstrations in front of its seat, nor did the UAE embassy.
The sources believed that the group failed to attract the required crowd and rally supporters, and they did not rule out the possibility that the failure was due to the supporters’ fear that their appearance in front of the UAE embassy would stigmatizing and be interpreted by people back home as support for drone attacks, attacks on vital facilities, and the targeting of civilians in the Sudan, their homeland
