Khartoum State Issues Clarification Regarding Decision to End Leave for State Employees

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The official spokesperson for the Khartoum State government, Al-Tayeb Saad Al-Din, clarified that a distortion had occurred in the Khartoum State government’s decision, which stipulated (terminating leave granted to employees, with all employees returning to work no later than mid-June 2025).
A press release from the state media reported that electronic and social media platforms were spreading rumors. These rumors, originally from a website, claimed that the state government would punish anyone who missed work until mid-June.
The statement added: (The official spokesman confirms that this talk is false, as the journalist asked a question about whether those who are absent from work will be punished, but unfortunately the content was completely different and it seemed clear from the context that the state would punish those who are absent, noting that the answer to the question was “so far, the estimates are left to the head of the government unit,” and the intended estimate here is to look into the circumstances of the workers who traveled outside Sudan and some of them were linked to its educational institutions and so on, so the decision stipulated a period to rectify the situation).
