Police Major General Abdul Karim Hamdo Mohamed Khair, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Khartoum State Police, has confirmed that police cover all localities of Khartoum State by more than 90%. He added that the police have developed a comprehensive security plan through joint patrols and checkpoints.

The Criminal Investigation Director indicated that security responsibility in all of Khartoum State has become the responsibility of the police forces. Armed forces have withdrawn their presence from many locations, and the police have taken over their positions and set up their presence on all streets. He emphasized that the police stand ready to provide support for the armed forces in the battle for dignity.

General Abdul Karim explained that the return rate of police stations in Khartoum State is more than 90%, urging citizens to go to police stations, file their reports, and follow up on them electronically or from within the police stations.

He also urged them to report any criminal or collaborator still hiding in neighborhoods. Today, he told the Blue Nile Channel program “As follows for Arabic Kal-Atti” that the police had seized large quantities of stolen goods and vehicles.

He called on people to go to police stations to inspect and identify their lost items, bring witnesses, and collect them. He emphasized a significant increase in reports of militia violations following the increasing return of citizens to their homes, while there has been a decrease and decline in crime rates and criminal reports following the large deployment of police forces.

The Director of the Khartoum Criminal Court noted that reports of militia and collaborator violations have been monitored and handed over to competent investigators, and some have been handed over to the court.

He indicated that Khartoum State is now safe and there are no threats or obstacles to citizens filing their reports with the police. He also stated that there are no restrictions on the movement of citizens within Khartoum State, and that traffic is normal around the clock.

General Abdul Karim confirmed that there is extensive coordination with the Public Prosecution regarding the seized stolen goods and all the militia’s crimes and violations. He added that “very soon, citizens will find all civil services provided by the police fully available to them.” He revealed that the police have recovered all civil registry data, fingerprints, and traffic licenses.

The Director of the Khartoum State Police Criminal Investigations said an engineering committee has been set up to review all public service sites destroyed by the rebel militia. All reports of missing vehicles have also been entered into the Interpol database, and some vehicles have been recovered from neighboring and distant countries.

He explained that the police’s vision for dealing with foreigners is clear, through the establishment of sites and camps outside the cities in coordination with the Refugee Commission and other organizations. He added that the law must be applied to foreigners, and permits, residency cards, and a census must be issued, he added.
