CNN reported that Iran launched attacks on at least 16 US military facilities and bases in the Middle East during the fighting.
The channel, citing satellite imagery and information from sources in the United States and the Gulf, stated that some of these facilities were rendered almost unusable by the Iranian missile and drone strikes.
The American channel quoted a source familiar with the destruction of the buildings as saying, “I’ve never seen anything like this before,” according to the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
According to satellite imagery, Tehran’s primary targets were advanced US radar systems, communications systems, and aircraft.
CNN stated, “Many of the destroyed items are very expensive and difficult to replace.”
The channel noted that the US acknowledges that Iran selected the most effective targets for its strikes.
An aide to a US congressman told the channel that radar systems are among the US military’s most expensive and limited resources in the region. He also noted that the damaged facilities constitute the majority of US military sites in the region.
