The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has accused the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia of continuing its “malicious plan to cause famine in the country by deliberately and systematically disrupting agricultural activities, destroying the infrastructure of the agricultural sector, and looting agricultural machinery, seeds, and crops from both winter and summer seasons.”
In a statement published by the Sudan News Agency, on Tuesday, the Ministry said that the terrorist Janjaweed militia, under the supervision of their regional sponsors, “continues its malicious plan to cause famine in the country by deliberately and systematically disrupting agricultural activities in food production areas. The ultimate goal of this plan is to empty production areas of their inhabitants and replace them with militia members and their foreign mercenaries.”
The statement added that due to this terrorist campaign, production in parts of the Gezira Project has been disrupted for the first time in a hundred years, in addition to threatening the agricultural season in the states of Sennar and Blue Nile and the Rahad Project.
The statement held the Rapid Support Forces and their sponsoring countries primarily responsible for creating and planning this crisis. It also reminded the international and regional community of the need to confront those behind this plan aimed at starving and impoverishing the people of Sudan.
