Malik Agar Praises Saudi Arabia’s Support for Sudan

Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar Eyre, praised the fraternal and longstanding relations between Sudan and Saudi Arabia.

During a meeting today in Port Sudan with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sudan, Zaid bin Makhled, Agar expressed Sudan’s appreciation for the Kingdom’s principled positions in support of stability and the restoration of normal life, particularly its continued support for preserving the country’s unity, as well as the humanitarian assistance it has provided to alleviate the effects of the war.

For his part, the Saudi ambassador said in a press statement following the meeting that his country is committed to developing and strengthening its relations with Sudan across various fields, noting that the relationship between the two countries is founded on deep-rooted historical ties and longstanding shared interests.

The ambassador explained that the meeting reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest, particularly developments in Sudan and efforts to promote stability, restore normal life, and support recovery efforts across the country.

He also reaffirmed his country’s commitment to Sudan’s security, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as its desire to maintain continued communication and consultations with the Sudanese leadership in support of efforts to overcome the repercussions of the current period and fulfill the Sudanese people’s aspirations for security, stability, and development.
