250 University Professors and 300 Students leave Egyptian Soil to Sudan

The travel of 250 university professors and 300 students to Sudan, facilitated by the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return, began today, Monday, completing the departure of university professors from Egypt.
Dr. Asim Hassan Ahmed, the Cultural Attaché at the Sudanese Embassy in Cairo, announced in a press statement that the departure of public school professors and their families would begin this week.
He noted the embassy’s efforts, in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Federal Ministry of Education, and the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return, to continue helping university students leave Egypt and to intensify the departure of public school professors, students, and their families.
For his part, Osama Mohamed Saeed, head of the committee for departure of university professors and students, revealed that approximately 1,700 university professors and 15,000 university students have already been helped to leave the country, indicating that around 10,000 students remain to be departure.
The head of the committee noted that the process of transporting university professors and students began on July 30, 2026, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to resume the educational process in universities in the country, explaining the full coordination between the ministry, the Sudanese embassy in Cairo, the General Union of University and Higher Institute Professors, and the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return.
