Coordination and Cooperation Between the Ministry of Energy and West Kordofan State to Restore Power

The Minister of Energy, Engineer Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed, met on Thursday at his office in Khartoum with the Governor of West Kordofan State, Major General Hamid Hamad Tirab, to discuss coordination and cooperation between the Ministry and the state, and preparations for restoring electricity and fuel services to the state following its liberation.

The Governor of West Kordofan is currently touring several ministries and high-level government bodies to strengthen coordination with various institutions and prepare for the post-liberation phase and the restoration of essential services in the state.

During the meeting, the Minister of Energy emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts between the Ministry and the state, and developing both immediate and long-term plans to provide electricity and fuel. This will contribute to restoring normalcy, enabling citizens to access services, and creating the conditions necessary for the state to return to its former state.

For his part, the Governor of West Kordofan affirmed that the state is rich in resources and wealth that contribute to supporting the Sudanese economy, most notably livestock, agriculture, and petroleum. He pointed to the importance of coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and early preparation for the post-liberation phase.

The Governor heralded the imminent liberation of the entire state from the rebel militias, emphasizing the importance of integrating the efforts of state institutions in restoring services and strengthening stability, reconstruction, and development.
