Two Men Sentenced to Death for Murdering Pharmacist in Rufaa

The Rufaa General Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Ahmed Abdel Moneim, has sentenced defendants Hasaballah Ahmed Hasaballah and Nasser Idris to death by hanging. They were convicted in criminal case number (4525/2025) for violating Articles (21/130) of the Sudanese Penal Code of 1991, as amended in 2020.
The case details reveal that the defendants set up an ambush near the Al-Hasahisa Bridge, stopped the victim, pharmacist Dr. Abdullah Al-Tayeb Omran, and lured him to a field in the village of Al-Azabiya. There, they robbed his vehicle and belongings before shooting and killing him.
Investigation teams recovered the firearm (Kalashnikov) used in the crime from the first defendant. This crime preoccupied public opinion in the Al-Hasahisa and Rufaa areas.
