Finance Ministry Pledges to Improve Teachers’ Salaries Next Year

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Ali Juma, announced on Saturday that teachers’ salaries will undergo a comprehensive improvement starting next year, 2027, affirming that the education sector is among the government and ministry’s top priorities compared with other sectors.
The announcement came during his field visit today to the headquarters of the Ministry of Education and National Education in Khartoum, where he met with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Ahmed Khalifa Omer Karrar. The meeting was attended by Director General of Examinations Mutasim Ali Al-Sheikh and Examinations Director Khalid Mohammed.
Juma praised teachers for their efforts in examination control, marking, data processing, and recording.
The Finance Ministry Undersecretary also provided a financial incentive to all teachers working at the examination center in recognition of their exceptional efforts. He praised the Education Ministry’s successful transition from Atbara and its return to operating from Khartoum, as well as its successful organization of the examinations.
For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Ahmed Khalifa Omer Karrar said the Finance Ministry had fulfilled all its commitments to providing textbooks and school furniture for Khartoum State, in addition to paying government employees’ salaries.
The meeting also discussed a number of the Education Ministry’s urgent and future needs to ensure the stability of the academic year.
