Cairo – Sudanhorizon– Sabah Moussa
Sources close to the meetings and consultations being held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, between the Quintet Mechanism (comprising the African Union, the Arab League, the United Nations, IGAD, and the European Union) and Sudanese political and civil forces, regarding the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, revealed that the consultations are still ongoing and open. They aim to ensure that the dialogue is Sudanese-owned and under Sudanese sovereignty.
The sources explained in a statement to Sudanhorizon Newswebsite that no meetings with any Sudanese forces have yet been scheduled for the coming weeks. The sources added that preparations are underway for a visit by the Quintet Mechanism to Khartoum in the coming weeks. They indicated that the Quintet will address several pressing issues on the Sudanese political scene during its visit, including the ongoing efforts by “independent Sudanese figures” to hold a dialogue within Sudan, and ways to support these efforts.
