Kurmuk Government: Intense Drone and Artillery Attacks on the City for Three Consecutive Days from Neighboring Regions

Kurmuk – Sudanhorizon

The government of Kurmuk province in the Blue Nile region has confirmed that the city of Kurmuk, the provincial capital, has been subjected to intense attacks by strategic and suicide drones and artillery shelling from neighboring regions for three consecutive days. The government stated that the Sudanese Armed Forces are continuing to repel the attacks and defend the city.

In a statement issued today (Thursday), the Kurmuk provincial government said that the city is the target of ongoing conspiracies against the Sudanese state, asserting that the armed forces are “fighting fiercely in defense and resolutely repelling this aggression.”

The statement accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) – Abdelaziz al-Hilu faction – of becoming “pliant tools in the hands of those conspiring against the Sudanese state.” It stated that this alliance is being used to undermine the stability and security of citizens, kill them, loot their property, and destroy service institutions.
