Minister of Higher Education Meets First Group of Sudanese Scholars Returning Home

The Sudanese Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ahmed Madawi Musa, received on Wednesday the first group of Sudanese university and higher institute professors and their families upon their arrival in Khartoum from Cairo.

This is part of a program aimed at helping 1,000 academics and their families, return home within the framework of a national initiative to support the stability of universities and the resumption of higher the educational process in the country.

The Minister welcomed the return of Sudanese scholars and university professors to their homeland, emphasizing that their participation represents a fundamental pillar in the reconstruction efforts and the restoration of stability to higher education and scientific research institutions, as well as in strengthening the national development process. He noted that the return of national talents represents a true investment in Sudan’s future.

The Minister affirmed the continuation of the program to repatriate professors and their families from abroad in the coming phase, in coordination with the Hope Committee for Voluntary Return and the Professional Union of University Professors. He explained that this step represents direct support for Sudanese universities during the stabilization phase, in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister.

He explained that the return of academic talents represents a fundamental pillar for the stability of studies and enhances the confidence of students and their families in the future of higher education institutions, stressing that the ministry is moving steadily towards restoring academic activity in all universities and higher institutes, in a way that serves the goals of development and reconstruction in the country.
