West Kordofan Governor to Sudanhorizon: Armed Forces in Full Control, Militia Media Spreading Fear Among Citizens

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Mousa

The Governor of West Kordofan State, Ahmed Adam Jaid, said that the security situation in the state remains stable, except for drone strikes that have targeted civilians, civilian facilities, and private fuel stations, including some that are no longer operational.

In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon on Wednesday, Jaid said security conditions are under control throughout the state and that both civilian and military leaders are able to move freely. He accused militia-affiliated media outlets of conducting a propaganda campaign aimed at intimidating citizens and spreading fear among the population.

He stressed that the Sudanese Armed Forces remain fully in control of the situation and possess the readiness and capability to respond to any reckless actions or attempts by rebel forces.

Regarding humanitarian conditions, the governor noted that the state requires increased support and intervention, particularly with the approach of the rainy season, which is expected to heighten demand for basic services and humanitarian assistance.

Jaid called on relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to intensify their efforts in order to address the anticipated challenges during the coming period.
