Sudanese Attorney General in Geneva to Address Human Rights Council

Intisar Ahmed Abdel Aal, the Attorney General of the Republic of Sudan and Head of the National Commission of Inquiry into Crimes and Violations of National Law and International Humanitarian Law, is currenly in Geneva to participate in the work of the Human Rights Council.
The visiting official was received upon arrival by Sudanese Ambassador Hassan Hamed Hassan, Permanent Representative and Head of the Sudanese Mission in Geneva, along with members of the mission.
The Attorney General is scheduled to deliver a statement before the Human Rights Council, outlining the efforts and legal measures taken by the National Commission of Inquiry into Crimes and Violations of National Law and International Humanitarian Law to achieve justice, provide redress for victims, and combat impunity. This reflects the efficiency, integrity, and independence of the Sudanese judiciary and its ability to fulfill its duties in enforcing justice.
She will also hold a number of bilateral briefing meetings with the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the President of the Human Rights Council, and a number of heads and representatives of relevant international organizations, in order to discuss topics related to the work of the Committee and to promote cooperation in the areas of justice and human rights.
