Secretary of Environment Inspects Waste Disposal at Abu Walidat, Transfer Stations

The Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Environment and Urban and Rural Development in Khartoum State, Ghada Al-Awad, accompanied by the Director-General of the State Cleaning Authority, Abdul Rahim Awad, inspected the final waste disposal operations and ensured the smooth operation of the landfill during their visit..
A field report issued by the Eid al-Adha Emergency Room, covering the period from the day before Eid until the third day of Eid al-Adha, revealed on friday the status of incoming and outgoing waste from the seven localities of Khartoum State, as well as medical waste.
According to the report, the workforce attendance during the Eid period reached 100%. The number of vehicles at the Khartoum transfer station was 6, at the Omdurman transfer station 7, at the Abu Walidat landfill 4, and for medical waste 8.
The report stated that the total number of vehicles operating at the Khartoum and Omdurman intermediate station was 51, with 295 round trips and a total incoming volume of approximately 3,463 cubic meters. The total number of tractors operating was 11, making 38 trips, and the total outgoing volume from the station was 2,870 cubic meters.
Regarding medical waste management, 7 vehicles operated, making 12 round trips and transporting 214 cubic meters, serving 87 health facilities and one slaughterhouse.
The total number of vehicles operating at the Abu Walidat landfill was 32, making 69 trips and transporting 3,400 cubic meters during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
