The Director General of the Sudanese Intelligence Service Discusses the Situation in Sudan with a Senior Russian Official

The Director General of the Sudanese General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, met on Thursday with Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, to discuss the political and military situation in Sudan and the progress achieved on the ground.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the international meeting of senior officials concerned with security affairs, currently in session in Moscow.
The Director General explained to the Russian official the extent of the violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia against Sudanese citizens.
He also outlined the government’s vision for achieving peace and stability and its initiative for Sudanese dialogue within Sudan, which allows for the participation of all parties.
He praised Russia’s supportive stances towards Sudan, particularly in the Security Council, and the coordination between the two countries in international forums, according to the Sudan News Agency.
For his part, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma welcomed Lieutenant General Mufaddal and his accompanying delegation to Moscow, noting the importance of his participation in this international meeting.
He indicated that they are closely monitoring developments in Sudan, the positions of other countries regarding these developments, and attempts to interfere in Sudan’s internal affairs.
He clarified Russia’s firm and principled stance in support of Sudan’s unity and sovereignty, and its rejection of any attempts targeting the legitimate government and its institutions.
The meeting affirmed the importance of joint efforts to develop bilateral relations between the two countries through existing mechanisms and the exchange of visits between officials. The Russian official emphasized his country’s strong desire to develop bilateral relations in all fields.
