Joint Force Announces Deterrent Measures to Combat Hate Speech
Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Legal Department of the Joint Force of Armed Struggle Movements announced on Monday the launch of measures to confront hate speech and racist practices through two tracks—awareness and legal action—in coordination with the relevant judicial authorities.
Lieutenant General (Legal) Sadiq Bango, Head of the Legal Department of the Joint Force, said in a press statement that the department has begun intensive communication with all relevant parties in order to put an end to hate speech that threatens social peace.
He explained that the action plan includes two parallel tracks. The first is an awareness track aimed at promoting values of tolerance, raising awareness of the dangers of hate speech, and guiding public opinion toward national unity.
The second is a legal track that involves taking all necessary deterrent measures against anyone proven to be involved in inciting discord or adopting racist rhetoric, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The Legal Department affirmed that it “will not be lenient in protecting citizens’ rights and preserving their dignity,” stressing that it will remain “a vigilant guardian in enforcing the law” in cooperation with partners in judicial and legal institutions.
