Involving a 100 Aircrafts, 15,000 Troops: US Launches “Project Freedom” to Secure Passage Through the Strait of Hormuz and Continues Blockade

The US military launched has “Project Freedom” Monday to secure passage through the Strait of Hormuz for ships detained since the beginning of the war, while simultaneously confirming that the blockade will continue. Iran, meanwhile, asserted that it will maintain the security of the Strait of Hormuz with full force.
The US military stated that “Project Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz is supported by more than 100 aircraft and 15,000 troops. The Axios website quoted the US Navy as saying it will provide information on safe passages for tankers in Hormuz to facilitate transit of the strait.
At the same time, Iran issued a warning to all commercial vessels and foreign forces regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The head of the National Security Committee in the Iranian parliament stated that the strait will not be managed by “Trump’s misleading pronouncements,” while an announcement was made that a tanker was struck by unidentified projectiles off the coast of Fujairah in the UAE.
