‎ Burhan Apologizes to Medical Personnel for Some Military men’s Harsh Reactions

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan,has expressed his apologies on behalf of the military establishment for some of the “harshness” exhibited by individual militarymen towards medical staff in hospitals.
He expressed his appreciation for all healthcare workers who have endured the horrors of war and continued to provide services to citizens under the difficult circumstances the country is facing.
Addressing a meeting of state health ministers in Khartoum on Saturday, Burhan praised the efforts of the Ministry of Health, led by Minister Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim and his deputies. He emphasized that the ministry and its medical staff have consistently earned widespread praise for their efforts in extending healthcare services throughout the country.
He also highlighted the prominent national role of medical personnel in supporting military operations, explaining that their provision of accurate information to the relevant authorities regarding enemy movements and equipment was a direct cause of the victories achieved by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in areas south of Khartoum.
The Chairman of the Sovereign Council condemned the systematic targeting of hospitals by the “rebel militia,” emphasizing that the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) do not target healthcare facilities. He also commended the resilience of the doctors at the Turkish Hospital in Nyala in the face of harassment by the “terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia.”
He further stressed that providing healthcare is a guaranteed right, even for citizens in enemy-held areas. He announced the state’s commitment to implementing the outcomes of the forum and approving a generous bonus for doctors, particularly those in remote areas, to ensure their job satisfaction.

Burhan affirmed the national role of military hospitals, which open their doors to all Sudanese citizens without discrimination, stemming from their national responsibility.
