Kurmuk Governor: RSF Drones Cross from Ethiopia as Army Responded with Vigilance and Professionalism

Karmak Governor Abdel Ati Mohamed Al-Faki affirmed that the security and military situation in the locality remains stable, stressing that the Sudanese Armed Forces retain the initiative and are dealing with developments on the ground with a high degree of vigilance and readiness.

In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Al-Faki said the armed forces are maintaining full vigilance in confronting threats facing the locality. He added that the repeated downing of strategic drones belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which are seeking to target the army’s forward positions in the Blue Nile region, demonstrates the armed forces’ professionalism and ability to defend Sudanese territory.

The Karmak governor explained that the drones are launched from Ethiopian territory and cross the Sudanese border into the country’s interior through the Karmak locality axis, with the aim of targeting the armed forces’ forward positions.

Al-Faki confirmed that the armed forces are responding to these threats with a high level of vigilance and professionalism, noting that they had succeeded in downing two RSF drones targeting the locality over the past two days.

The Karmak governor stressed that the armed forces continue to monitor the area and respond to any threats targeting the locality’s security and stability. He reaffirmed their continued readiness to defend Sudanese territory and counter attempts to target their forward positions in the Blue Nile region.
