Belarus Signs Agreement with Sudan on Export Credits

The Belarusian government and Sudan signed a general agreement on Thursday on provision of export credits, establishing a legal and financial framework for the supply of Belarusian goods, services, and projects to Sudan.
The agreement was signed by Belarusian Deputy Minister of Industry Leonid Ryzhkovsky and Sudanese State Minister of Finance Advisor Mohamed Nour Abdel-Daim.
Under the agreement, the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (an open joint-stock company) will act as the lender for these transactions.
In a related development, intentions agreement was signed between the Belarusian state-owned oil and chemical company, Belorosneft, and the Sudanese Ministry of Energy. Vladimir Sizov, Deputy Chairman of Belorosneft, signed on behalf of Belarus, while Sudanese Minister of Energy Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed Ali signed on behalf of Sudan.

The two sides agreed to process and interpret geological exploration data from Sudanese oil fields using Belorosneft software, as well as to provide professional training for Sudanese specialists at the Belorosneft International Business Academy.
