Sudanese police stated that a specialized field team from the State Crimes and Counter-Terrorism Police has seized two SAM-7 anti-aircraft guns, along with their fuses, in central Khartoum on Friday. The guns are used for anti-aircraft purposes and operate using infrared technology.

According to the police press office, the seizure stemmed from precise information received by the State Crimes and Counter-Terrorism Prosecution Division regarding the presence of anti-aircraft guns on the sixth floor of a building in central Khartoum. Based on this information, a specialized field team was formed under the supervision of the Director General of Security Police and led by the Director of the Positive Security Department. During a raid on the location, two Soviet-made SA-7 shoulder-fired anti-aircraft guns and several fuses were seized.

Legal proceedings were initiated under case number (1/2026) and Article (26) of the Weapons and Ammunition Law at the State Crimes and Counter-Terrorism Prosecution Division. It is worth noting that this site was being used by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebel militia to restrict the movements of the Sudanese Armed Forces and their supporting agencies.
