Sultan Bahruddin Briefs Foreign Minister on Outcomes of Meetings with U.S. Administration

On Monday, Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Youssef met with Sultan Saad Abdulrahman Bahruddin, Sultan of the Dar Masalit, and his accompanying delegation.
The Sultan expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its missions in the United States for facilitating his recent visit and arranging meetings with the U.S. administration, Congress, the United Nations, the Security Council, civil society organizations, and Sudanese communities in the United States.
He described the visit as successful, having achieved its objectives, and noted that it garnered support from Republican members of the U.S. Congress. The Sultan said he presented the severity of the violations committed against the Masalit to officials in the U.S. administration and the United Nations. His message received solidarity and sympathy for the atrocities and acts of genocide that had been inflicted upon the Masalit.
The Foreign Minister praised the Sultan’s efforts with the American side, emphasizing the importance of grassroots diplomacy and the use of soft power. He stated that these efforts effectively highlighted the horrific violations faced by the Masalit and pledged to continue raising awareness within the international community about these issues.
