University of Gezira Supports Culture and Media Palace Library with 29 Scientific and Cultural Publications

The Department of Arabization, Authorship and Publishing at the University of Gezira today (Monday) delivered 29 scientific and cultural publications authored by university faculty members to the Culture and Media Palace Library in Gezira State.

The initiative aims to promote reading and scientific research and make the university’s intellectual output accessible to students, researchers, intellectuals, and members of the wider community.

Dr. Ahmed Haj Ahmed, Director of the Department of Arabization, Authorship and Publishing, said the initiative comes within the framework of cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Information in Gezira State. He noted that the department intends to continue supporting the library with additional university publications, as well as allocating a dedicated section to display the books and introduce readers to their contents and authors.

Al-Haj stressed that the donated publications cover a wide range of fields of knowledge. He underscored the importance of supporting public libraries and preserving printed books while keeping pace with the digital transformation in the publication and dissemination of knowledge.

For her part, Nafisa Abdullah, the public library coordinator at the Ministry of Culture and Information, welcomed the initiative, emphasizing the importance of reopening the public library and strengthening its role in providing sources of knowledge for students, researchers, and intellectuals.

Saber Saeed, Director of the Ministry’s Department of Culture, called for continued cooperation between the university and the ministry and for expanding the partnership, including efforts to establish an electronic library that keeps pace with modern developments and contributes to restoring and revitalizing cultural and intellectual activity in Gezira State.
