The International University of Africa: Ready to Receive Back Students in September

The International University of Africa, at its main campus, on Sunday received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Niger to the Arab Republic of Egypt and non-resident Ambassador to Sudan, Palestine, and Eritrea, Thani Nana Aisha Andia, and her accompanying delegation, to discuss strengthening academic relations and joint cooperation between the university and higher education institutions in Niger.
The delegation was received by the Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Osman Abdullah, in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Professor Youssef Khamis Abu Rafas, the Assistant-Chancellor for Administrative Coordination and Follow-up, Dr. Abdel-Baqi Omar, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rashid Al-Mubarak, and the Director of the Therapeutic Unit, Dr. Amina Abdullah.
Dr. Mohamed Osman Abdullah reviewed the efforts made by the university to restore its academic and administrative activities following the exceptional circumstances the country experienced. He explained that the university graduated three classes during the war and successfully restored and repaired a large part of its infrastructure. He affirmed that classes would resume on campus for all students starting next September, praising the historical relations with Niger.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance academic and scientific cooperation with Niger universities, particularly the Islamic University of Niger, to expand areas of collaboration and exchange expertise and scientific and research programs. Professor Youssef Khamis Abu Rafas emphasized the university’s commitment to opening new horizons and attracting more Nigerien students to study at the university, thus contributing to education and development on the continent.
Ambassador Thani Nana Aisha Andia expressed her keenness to strengthen joint cooperation, support academic and scientific partnerships, and encourage Nigerien students to enroll at the university and benefit from its diverse programs. At the end of the visit, the delegation toured the Nigerien dormitory and the Center for African Research and Studies to check the services provided, the infrastructure, and the scientific and research facilities at the university.
