Sudan’s Ambassador to Beijing Discusses Solar Energy and Reconstruction Cooperation with Chinese JA Company

Sudan’s Ambassador China, Omar Issa Ahmed, met on Friday at the headquarters of the Chinese renewable energy company JA in Beijing to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Sudan and the company in the field of solar energy and supporting development and reconstruction projects in Sudan.
The ambassador and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the latest technologies and solutions offered by the company in the fields of photovoltaic energy, energy storage systems, and the implementation of renewable energy projects in several global markets. The two sides also discussed opportunities for transferring advanced Chinese expertise and technologies to contribute to the development of Sudan’s energy sector.
Sudan Radio’s correspondent in Beijing, Osama Mukhtar, reported that the meeting addressed prospects for partnership between Sudan and the Chinese company, given Sudan’s interest in benefiting from Chinese expertise in clean energy, especially since Sudan possesses significant potential in solar energy, which can contribute to increasing electricity production and supporting development and reconstruction plans.
During the official meeting between the two sides, JA Company reviewed its global activities, projects, and investments in several markets, particularly in Africa, emphasizing its interest in contributing to Sudan’s reconstruction efforts through investment in solar energy projects and the development of clean energy solutions.
The company’s General Manager affirmed JA’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Sudan, praising the long-standing relations between the two countries and the promising opportunities offered by Sudan’s renewable energy sector.
For his part, Ambassador Omar Issa Ahmed emphasized the strength of the historical ties between Sudan and China, commending the role played by Chinese companies in supporting Sudan’s development and implementing several strategic projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
The Ambassador explained that Sudan looks forward to expanding its partnership with Chinese companies, especially during the reconstruction phase, and to benefiting from their expertise and modern technologies to develop the electricity sector and enhance reliance on renewable energy sources. He noted that solar energy represents one of the promising areas for cooperation between the two sides.
The ambassador added that Sudan welcomes Chinese investments in this sector, emphasizing that the Sudanese government is working to create a suitable environment for companies wishing to contribute to infrastructure, energy, and sustainable development projects.
The Sudanese side presented an overview of the country’s priorities in renewable energy and the available investment opportunities. The two sides discussed mechanisms for cooperation in implementing solar energy projects that would support Sudan’s plans to expand electricity production using clean sources and achieve sustainable development.
It is to be noted that the Chinese company JA Renewable Energy is one of the world’s largest companies in the production and development of solar energy technologies. It possesses extensive experience in manufacturing solar cells and modules and implementing clean energy projects in numerous countries worldwide.
