Sovereign Council Mourns Former Member Mawlana Hassan Qadhi

The Chairman and members of the Transitional Sovereign Council have mourned the passing of the late Mawlana Hassan Mohammed Sheikh Idris Qadhi, a former Sovereign Council member who passed away on Friday in Cairo.
The Council’s statement read:
“As the Sovereign Council mourns him, it also mourns for the Sudanese people the loss of a patriotic and devoted man who dedicated his energy and efforts to serving his nation. With his passing, the nation has lost a towering figure in political and social affairs in eastern Sudan.”
The statement continued:
“The deceased was known for his abundant contributions in all fields of public service and was distinguished by his wisdom in public affairs.”
“May Allah have mercy on him and grant his family and loved ones patience and solace. Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.”
