Sudan is participating with a special pavilion at the Global Trade, Industrial, and Investment Exhibition hosted on Kish Island, Iran. The event began on January 18 and will continue until January 24.
The Sudanese pavilion was inaugurated with significant participation by Sudan’s ambassador to Tehran, Abdulaziz Hassan Saleh, in the presence of the Director of the Iranian Exhibitions Company, the President of the Iranian-African Trade Council, and the Presidents of the Tehran and Abadan Chambers of Commerce.
The pavilion showcases investment opportunities and Sudanese products, attracting considerable attention from Iranian businessmen, exhibitors, and visitors.
Hanan Mosnad Osman, Director General of the Entrepreneurship Centre at the Ministry of Investment and head of the delegation participating in the Kish International Exhibition, revealed that the Ministry of Investment had begun preparations for Sudan’s participation well in advance. The ministry coordinated with other entities, including the National Council for Free Zones, the Ministry of Oil and Gas, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, the Ministry of Trade, and the Central Bank of Sudan. She highlighted the effective coordination between the Sudanese delegation and Sudan’s diplomatic mission in Tehran.
Speaking exclusively to Sudanhorizon from Tehran, Mosnad noted that despite time constraints and challenging circumstances, the delegation succeeded in preparing materials to promote Sudan’s investment opportunities, including details about laws and policies established by relevant authorities.
Mosnad emphasised that Sudan’s participation in the Kish International Exhibition has garnered significant interest from Iranian investors, especially in sesame, peanut, and oil sector opportunities. She mentioned that the Ministry of Oil’s representative met with several Iranian companies interested in investing in Sudan’s oil industry.
She also noted that the President of the Iranian-African Association attended the Sudanese pavilion’s opening ceremony and held a session with the Sudanese delegation to discuss Sudan’s investment laws, potential collaborations, and participation frameworks.
Mosnad highlighted the enthusiasm expressed by Iranian women for investing in Sudan, particularly in gold and meat production. She stated that the delegation proposed establishing modern slaughterhouses in Sudan under scientific standards and embassy oversight.
Expressing optimism, the head of the delegation hoped that Sudan’s participation in the Iranian international exhibition would mark the beginning of substantial cooperation between Sudan and Iran in the near future.
The President of the Iranian-African Trade Council commended Sudan’s participation in the exhibition, describing it as a step toward reviving and strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two nations. He affirmed that Sudan offers significant opportunities for investment and trade exchange.
