Sudan: New 8.89% Increase in Customs Dollar Rate

On Saturday, the Sudan Customs Authority applied a new 8.89% increase in the value of the customs dollar.
Consequently, the customs dollar rate rose from 3,960.24 Sudanese pounds to 4,346.65 pounds.
This increase in the customs dollar rate coincides with a rise in foreign currency exchange rates in the parallel markets.
The customs dollar is the rate used to calculate customs duties on imports; the resulting fees are paid in Sudanese pounds, and the rate is determined by the government through relevant institutions.
