Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Resume Work in Khartoum Soon

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry announced its intention to resume work from its headquarters in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, “in the near future.”
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement seen by Sudanhorizon news website: “His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ali Youssef, issued a decision today, on Friday, to form a committee headed by Ambassador Khaled Abbas to study the conditions of the ministry’s main buildings in Khartoum and its affiliated headquarters, following the deliberate sabotage they suffered by terrorist militias. The committee will also study what is required to rehabilitate these buildings and the ministry’s work facilities.”
The statement continued: “The committee is preparing to travel to the capital, Khartoum, urgently to inspect the ministry’s main building and other headquarters and assess the extent of the damage to the building and its affiliated buildings as a result of the sabotage caused by the rebel militia to numerous state facilities.” He added, “The necessary coordination has been undertaken with the relevant government authorities to ensure the success of the committee’s work. The committee will submit its final report to the ministry’s leadership, after which maintenance and rehabilitation work will begin at the ministry’s headquarters, its annexes, and its work facilities, in preparation for the return of ministry employees to resume their normal duties shortly.”
