ISESCO Supports Educational Projects in Sudan
Kazan – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Minister of Education, Al-Tahami Al-Zein Hajar, on Thursday met with the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) on the sidelines of his participation in the organization’s General Conference in Kazan.
The meeting discussed the state of education in Sudan and the challenges it faces following the huge damage inflicted on educational institutions by the war waged by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia, and the resulting direct impact on educational infrastructure.
During the meeting, the Minister of Education emphasized the Sudanese government’s commitment to rebuilding and developing the education sector through effective partnerships with regional and international organizations. He highlighted ISESCO’s pivotal role in supporting education, development, and capacity-building projects.
For his part, the Director-General of ISESCO announced the organization’s commitment to supporting Sudan in the coming phase and revealed a package of initiatives and projects aimed at supporting the sector. Among the most prominent of these is the appointment of a Director-General for the Regional Center for Dialogue and Diversity in Sinnar, a step aimed at promoting dialogue, coexistence, and community peace-building.
The pledges also included support for the “e-learning” project as one of the modern solutions to overcome the challenges imposed by the war conditions, in addition to supporting the “printing press” project as a vital project for printing textbooks, which contributes to bridging the gap left by the damage inflicted on educational institutions.
