Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has emphasized the vital role of traditional community leadership in strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing the country’s social fabric, praising its growing contribution to resolving numerous community issues.

His remarks came during a meeting today with delegations from the Hadendowa and Beni Amer tribes, led by Nazir Mohamed Ahmed Al-Amin Tirik and Nazir Ali Ibrahim Diglal.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Nazir Tirik said the discussions focused on the two tribes’ support for the Sudanese Armed Forces in what they described as the “Battle of Dignity.” He stressed that reports circulating on social media about disputes between the Hadendowa and Beni Amer are entirely false, affirming that the ties uniting the two communities are far stronger than any attempts to divide them.

“We cannot burden the state at this time, while it is fighting an existential battle against the rebellion, with secondary issues,” Tirik said. He added that rumors of tribal disagreements only serve the enemy and help boost its declining morale, reaffirming that all the people of eastern Sudan stand united alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces.

For his part, Beni Amer Nazir Ali Diglal reaffirmed that all tribes of eastern Sudan stand firmly behind the Sudanese Armed Forces in their fight against what he described as the rebel militia. He emphasized that the Beni Amer and Hadendowa share a common destiny and expressed his hope for a decisive military victory that fulfills the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
