Chamber of Exporters Pushes to Activate India-Sudan Trade Protocols Under Shared Vision

The National Chamber of Exporters of the Federation of Sudanese Chambers of Commerce affirmed the private sector’s keenness to develop its relations with its counterparts in India. Ibrahim Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, a member of the Executive Office of the Chamber of Exporters of the Sudanese Chambers of Commerce, explained that the Sudanese private sector is keen to develop its relations with its partners in India to engage in real investments that contribute to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the war.
During his meeting with the Commercial Attaché of the Indian Embassy in Port Sudan, he revealed a shared vision to activate the protocols between the two countries and sign trade agreements and protocols for watermelon, lentils, cotton, and soybeans. These agreements will contribute to increasing the volume of exports and increasing the country’s total production under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade and relevant authorities in the coming period.
For his part, the Commercial Attaché of the Indian Embassy, Vijay Kumar Verma, stated that his country is keen to increase the volume of trade exchange with Sudan.
He pointed out that India needs Sudanese agricultural products like sesame, watermelon, lentils, chickpeas, cotton, and gum Arabic, in addition to lead and aluminum mineral products.
