Al-Burhan Appoints Ambassador Dafallah as Cabinet Affairs minister and Tasks him with Running Prime Minister’s Duties

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a decree today, on Wednesday, appointing Ambassador Dafallah Al-Haj Ali as Minister of Cabinet Affairs and tasked him with running the Prime Minister’s duties.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council directed the Council of Ministers and relevant authorities to implement the decision.

Ambassador Dafallah most recently served as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then as Sudan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He previously served as a diplomat and ambassador in several capitals, most notably New York and Paris. He was also assigned the role of Special Envoy of the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council following the outbreak of war in April 2023, and represented the Chairman of the Council at several regional forums.
