At the Invitation of President Erdoğan, Burhan Holds Important Talks in Turkey

Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, on Thursday arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Burhan was given an official reception at the Presidential Palace, where he was received by the Turkish President amidst a festive atmosphere reflecting the development and growth of Sudanese-Turkish relations, according to a statement from the Sudanese Sovereign Council’s media office.

The course of relations between Sudan and Turkey is witnessing remarkable progress thanks to the oversight and support of the leadership of both countries regarding bilateral cooperation issues, and the close coordination between the joint ministerial committees in both countries.

The Chairman of the Sovereign Council is accompanied on his visit to Turkey by Ambassador Muawiya Othman Khalid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, Director of the General Intelligence Service; and Lieutenant General Mirghani Idris, Director General of the Defense Industries System.
