Largest Counterfeiting Network Busted in Khartoum

Security authorities in Khartoum have dismantled the largest network involved in counterfeiting currency and official documents.

On Sunday, Khartoum Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza and police commanders inspected the operation, praising the high capabilities of the security forces in confronting all security threats that plague citizens’ lives, especially in areas experiencing security vulnerabilities. He emphasized that the situation is being handled with firmness and high professionalism.

The governor stated that the police’s commendable efforts in reducing crime send a strong message to anyone who doubts their ability to fully perform their role in maintaining security and stability in the coming period.

He also appealed to citizens to play their part by reporting sleeper cells and revealing the locations of stolen properties through cooperation with the various security agencies, thus contributing to strengthening community security.

For his part, the Director General of Police Forces, Lieutenant General Amir Abdel Moneim, has affirmed that the coming period requires full coordination and cooperation among all security agencies to uncover and confront security threats.

He stressed that the police leadership places these matters among its highest priorities. The Director General of Police reiterated his support for the various police departments to enable them to fulfill their role in protecting citizens’ property and handling any breaches as quickly as possible.

For his part, the Director of Federal Operations Police, Major General Amir Abdul Rahman Barkia, outlined a number of operations and tasks carried out by the Federal Police in the fight against organized crimes and the monitoring and tracking of criminal gangs’ movements.
