Government Source:PM to address UNSC Session Devoted for the Situation in Sudan

Government informed source told Sudanhorizon on Sunday that Prime Minister Kamil Idris will address the UN Security Council’s open session focused on Sudan, in New York on Monday

In the same context, informed diplomatic sources denied that the Prime Minister has a scheduled visit to Washington or any meetings with officials in President Donald Trump’s administration.

Sources had revealed on Saturday that the UN Security Council decided, following informal sessions and intensive consultations, to hold an open session on the latest developments in the Sudanese crisis.

The sources have indicated that Sudan will present a briefing and make interventions during the session in response to the topics raised. Sudan will also speak during the session, which is being convened following British and Danish initiative , as well as discussions with other relevant parties regarding the Sudanese crisis, particularly the humanitarian aspects and how to find a solution.
