The meeting took place at the Ministry of Minerals headquarters in Port Sudan, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry Dr. Hind Siddiq; Director of the General Authority for Geological Research, Consultant Geologist Ahmed Haroun Al-Tom; and Executive Director of the Ministry, Ibad Musaddiq.
The discussions focused on ways to expand the strategic partnership between Sudan and Russia in the fields of exploration and mining, in addition to discussing mechanisms for implementing the agreements signed between the two parties and overcoming obstacles that may face Russian companies operating, or wishing to invest, in the country.
The Minister of Minerals stated that the Russian delegation’s visit, given the current circumstances, represents “a strong message of support for Sudanese-Russian relations,” stressing the Sudanese government’s keenness to strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships. For their part, members of the Russian delegation expressed their growing interest in the Sudanese markets, noting the promising opportunities available in the minerals sector and their aspirations to establish long-term investment projects.
