Khartoum – Sudan Horizon
The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports is organizing a training workshop titled “Project Funding Through International Organizations,” with the participation of 35 trainees representing various ministry departments, as well as youth and international organizations. The workshop aims to strengthen participants’ capacities in project preparation and engagement with donor agencies.
Majida Rizq, Director of the Ministry’s Department of External Relations, said the three-day workshop will begin on Sunday in the ministry’s conference hall. She explained that it focuses on identifying suitable international organizations to fund projects, preparing humanitarian project proposals in accordance with required standards, and understanding donor organizations’ systems and communication mechanisms. She expressed hope that the workshop’s concepts and programmes would be put into practice to improve coordination with international organizations and benefit from grant and funding programmes for youth and sports projects.
Rizq added that the workshop covers the preparation of comprehensive project funding plans in both Arabic and English, alongside reviewing examples of projects that have secured approval and funding. Participants will also learn how to develop viable, fundable project ideas that can be translated into practical implementation.
The workshop is scheduled to conclude with training on budget preparation, monitoring and evaluation, as well as identifying the most common mistakes in project development, thereby improving participants’ chances of securing international funding.
