Ministry of Finance Focusses on Unprecedented Reform Program

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

Sudan’s Ministry of Finance has announced an unprecedented reform program that the ministry is currently preparing.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, has highlighted the most important challenges of the current phase, namely doubling revenues to meet the state’s needs, controlling spending, and providing and rehabilitating basic services in Khartoum State.

The minister stressed that this requires doubling efforts by ministry employees to meet the nation’s needs and meet citizens’ aspirations.

Upon his return today to assume his duties at the ministry, the Minister praised the efforts of the ministry’s employees as a unified working team, led by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, and the remarkable achievements scored, notwithstanding the exceptional circumstances.

The minister said he anticipated concerted and redoubled efforts to achieve more and affirm the Ministry of Finance’s mandate over public funds, controlling resources, and spending to the maximum extent required.

The Minister sent a reassuring message to employees that planning and executive work are continuing at the Ministry of Finance.
