Sudanese Army Controls Strategic Area Linking North and South Kordofan

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced its control of a strategic area linking North Kordofan and South Kordofan states.

Sudanese Army Spokesperson, Brig. General Nabil Abdullah. said in a press statement on Monday that the SAF unit known as the Sayyad Movement has crushed the remnants of Al-Dagalo militia in Al-Riyash and Kazgail and has cleansed the area after inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.

It is to be noted that SAF and their supporting forces are engaged in battles on several fronts in South Kordofan state against rebel forces from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) faction of Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu and militia groups from the Rapid Support Forces.
