Venezuela to Open its Embassy in Port Sudan Soon

The Sudanese Foreign Minister, Dr. Ali Youssef, has received a phone call on Thursday evening from his Venezuelan counterpart, Ivan Gil, who congratulated him on assuming the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister said he has been closely following up developments in the Sudan particularly the great victories scored by the Sudanese Armed Forces and their success in reclaiming the areas that were under the control of the Rapid Support Forces rebels, according to a circular published by the Office of the Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Venezuelan Minister congratulated the Minister Ali Youssef on the success of his visit to Russia, and expressed his appreciation to Sudan for its continued support for Venezuela in international forums.
For his part, the Foreign Minister Ali thanked and commended Venezuela for its firm and supportive positions towards Sudan on national issues in various international forums;
The Minister affirmed Sudan’s full support for Venezuela and its standing by its side in all aspects, praising the strong and distinguished relations between the two countries and the cooperation in various political and regional domains.
The two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and expand the frameworks of cooperation between the two countries.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister has meanwhile announced his government intention to open its embassy in the administrative capital, Port Sudan, shortly in preparation for its return to Khartoum after its complete liberation, noting that his Deputy for African Affairs will visit Port Sudan in this context.
Minister Dr. Ali Youssef has welcomed the Venezuelan move, stressing the provision of all necessary facilities to ensure the success of this mission.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister also extended an official invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Venezuela as soon as possible, to enhance joint work between the two countries in the political and economic fields, and to coordinate efforts in international forums.
